The Festival of Trees 2018

The Festival of Trees 2018

Finally winding down from a busy week! Between getting back from Italy, (which you’ll definitely hear more about) and sponsoring and decorating a tree for the Fortnightly Club (a great group that invests in the local community) at Anthony’s Banquet Hall, I’m just about catching my breath!

I used to take my kids to The Festival of Trees when they were little, but this was the first time I attended in a while. When the opportunity arose to sponsor a tree I jumped at it. The theme this year was, It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas”. I immediately asked (begged, dragged) my longtime friend Colleen, who loves the community as much as I do and is extremely creative, to help me decorate! She agreed and came up with the name  “Getting Reddy for Christmas”. Below is the tree we decorated!

We had a great time decorating (which I love to do), and the best part is you don’t have to un-decorate it (which I hate to do)!

Sign me up!

The festival is 4 days of festivities. I went on Sunday with my two of my friends Dawn and Michelle. What a great event. It was packed. So great to see the community come out and kick off the holiday season. In addition to the trees, great food, a raffle table, and of course Santa, there were some great vendors if you wanted to start some early holiday shopping.

There were jewelry, doll clothes, pocketbooks, handmade dog collars, and my friend Joanne Rose was there with her Sweet Ramas Soap and Lotions. I loved seeing all the trees decorated – tough competition though! Colleen and I are going to have to step it up for next year .. I’m a little competitive can you tell?!
